Toyota Tundra Shown Pulling Space Shuttle Endeavor

It has been well over a year since the 2012 Toyota Tundra stole the show in October 2012 when it towed the space shuttle Endeavour (weighing in at over 300,000 pounds) to the California Science Center. Recently, this historic event was once again in the news and the 2012 Toyota Tundra stole the spotlight once again!

The ad campaign that documented the historic transport of the space shuttle Endeavour by the 2012 Toyota Tundra was awarded the One Club Automobile Advertising of the Year Award!

“It’s an honor to be recognized by The One Club for the campaign capturing Toyota Tundra’s historic achievement. The monumental Tundra Endeavour tow truly launched an exciting new direction for Toyota and helped introduce our ‘Let’s Go Places’ movement. – Jack Hollis, vice president of marketing for Toyota”

This prestigious award by One Club took place at the North American International Auto Show and had over 500 entries spanning the globe.  Toyota was named the Automobile Advertiser of the Year in the Interactive and Experiential Advertising category.  Other categories awarded included: Print and Outdoor, Broadcast TV, and Online Video. A panel of 50 creative directors and journalists judged all submissions.

It seems fitting and well-deserved for this campaign to be recognized given the historic feat by the 2012 Toyota Tundra.  This historic mission was undertaken by the 2012 Toyota Tundra CrewMax 5.7L V8 4×4.

Be sure to stop by Toyota of Cool Springs to check out the super tough 2012 Toyota Tundra. If it is powerful enough to tow a space shuttle it is good enough for it to perform on the road for you!
