2018 Toyota Camry

Finally, the all new 2018 Toyota Camry is in dealerships across the country after having been announced earlier this year. Toyota has kept what’s good about the Camry, but managed to enhance it with some smart upgrades. This is still a practical choice for any family or individual who wants something reliable, but it’s made a few key changes that give it a lot more character (plus much better gas mileage.)

Better Design

The first thing you’ll notice about the new version is that its got more curves and panache than its predecessor. The wheelbase has gained an extra two inches while the hood has lost one. You’re getting a lower center of gravity, which will make handling in this car as precise as you need it to be. The Camry is available with a dual exhaust system if you’re looking for something a little sportier, but even standard models have been redesigned for more power. The 2017 entry model of the Camry was 178 horsepower while the 2018 model clocks in at 203.

Better Safety

The 2017 model of the Camry was available with Toyota’s Safety Sense, but that’s changed for 2018. Now you’ll get pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, and steering assist without having to spring for the upgraded package. When inclement weather takes you by surprise, use the automatic high beams for better visibility. When you’re trying to maneuver through narrow streets or back alleys, steering assist comes to your rescue. Cross traffic alerts and blind spot monitoring are also available in the 2018 Camry to give you even more confidence in crowded parking lots and busy freeways.

Better Attitude

All the marketing in the world can’t influence how a person feels when they sit in a car, and there’s no denying that some cars just feel better than others. The new Camry has that certain something that makes for a fun drive. Everything in the 2018 Toyota Camry is meant to flow from one part of the car to the next. The colors are brighter and more vibrant, and the available panoramic moonroof inspires visions of nighttime fun. Plus, there’s more space in the backseat for all your passengers. Due to the lower center of gravity, the driver has more visibility into the road and more lumbar support for longer trips. But you probably won’t be able to define any of these subtle changes from the 2017 model — you’ll simply absorb the car’s vibes from the moment you first step in.

Better Fuel Economy

The base model of the Toyota Camry has gotten an impressive 7 extra miles on standard models from their 2017 counterparts. The LE Hybrid gets 53 miles to the gallon, which is 12 miles over what it achieved last year. The L model gets 41 miles on the highway (34 miles combined), with the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE getting a combined 32 miles to the gallon. the 3.5L 6-cylinder versions will get 26 miles to the gallon (2 miles more than last year.)
